should the bible be taken at face value?

By

  • Lost in translation; The bible has been translated and rewritten more times then most people know. Humans are not perfect creatures, based on that alone there is a highly likely chance that some words were misinterpreted, changed to fit a narrative or simply left out to fit the agenda of both the church leaders and the rulers of the time.
  • Council Decisions: In the beginning the church leaders cherry picked which of the works that had been discovered were to go into the bible. Church councils decided what to include and exclude so that the agenda they had would be supported by the people. Was this divine intervention or the free will of man that shaped our beliefs?
  • The oldest biblical text often do not match so which ones are we to believe as the truth?
