The Bible is often seen as an unshakable foundation, a text meant to be taken at face value. But what if that’s not what it was ever meant to be? What if instead of a rigid rulebook it’s a layered collection of human perspectives – shaped by time, culture, politics and power? From lost translation to suppressed text, from metaphorical stories to historical manipulation, the bible has been edited, reinterpreted and repurposed more times than most people even realize. So should it really be taken at it’s word or is it time we start looking for the deeper meaning behind those word?
- Lost in translation; The bible has been translated and rewritten more times then most people know. Humans are not perfect creatures, based on that alone there is a highly likely chance that some words were misinterpreted, changed to fit a narrative or simply left out to fit the agenda of both the church leaders and the rulers of the time.
- Council Decisions: In the beginning the church leaders cherry picked which of the works that had been discovered were to go into the bible. Church councils decided what to include and exclude so that the agenda they had would be supported by the people. Was this divine intervention or the free will of man that shaped our beliefs?
- The oldest biblical text often do not match so which ones are we to believe as the truth?
I am not saying that there is not a GOD because i whole heartedly believe, know even that there is one. But what i am trying to do is to get you to ask yourself these hard questions. We have been conditioned to accept what our church leaders have told us from the beginning. But if nothing else i think we can agree the bible is relative to each reader, if that is so then that means that the bible is not a one size fits all answer. It has been used as a way to control and gain power. So lets take the bible out of it, what do you belive?
